The right place to start if you’re new to the practice, or you haven’t been to a dentist in a while. A full check of your teeth, gums and mouth, then a plan for anything that needs doing.

For anyone thinking about changing how their teeth look. You don’t need to know which treatment you want — that’s what this appointment is for.

A clean and gum health check. You can book straight in without seeing a dentist first — that’s what “direct access” means on the booking form.

Do I have to know what treatment I want before I book?

No. That’s the whole point of the appointment. If you’re unhappy with your teeth but don’t know what would fix it, book a cosmetic consultation and we’ll work it out together.

Will I be pressured into booking treatment?

No. You leave with a written plan and the costs, and you take it away to think about. Nothing is booked in on the day unless you ask us to.

What's the difference between an examination and a consultation?

An examination is a full health check of your teeth, gums and mouth — that’s where you start if you’re new to us or you’re due a check-up. A consultation is a conversation about changing how your teeth look: we listen, take a look, show you similar cases we’ve treated and go through the costs. It isn’t a check-up, so if your teeth are also due a look over you’d book an examination separately.

Are you taking NHS patients?

We’re a private practice. We do keep an NHS waiting list — ask reception to add you to it, and we’ll be in touch if a space comes up.

Will I have a 3D scan of my teeth?

Not at your consultation — that appointment is a conversation and a look, nothing more. If you decide to go ahead with cosmetic treatment, a 3D iTero scan is used at the planning stage to map your teeth accurately. There are no impression trays and no putty.

Are x-rays included?

No. Neither examinations nor consultations include x-rays. If we think you need them we’ll explain why and what they cost before anything is taken.

Do I pay when I book?

Yes — appointments are paid for in full when you book online. The one exception is a hygiene clean with Airflow stain removal at £120, which takes a £50 deposit and the balance on the day.

Can I pay for treatment monthly?

Yes, 0% finance is available on most treatments through Tabeo. We’ll show you the monthly figures at your appointment so you can see them alongside the total.

What does "direct access" mean on the booking form?

It means you can book straight in with the hygienist without seeing a dentist first, which is £80. If you’re already a patient here and see one of our dentists regularly, hygiene appointments are £70. If you’d rather have a full check-up, book an examination instead.

I'm nervous about the dentist. Does that matter?

Tell us when you book and we’ll allow extra time. A consultation involves no treatment at all — it’s a conversation and a look, which is often an easier way back in. We also offer sedation for anxious patients.
